TRENDY TUESDAY: The Nyonya Kebaya

HAPPY MALAYSIA DAY, lovelies!

After being free from the British invasion on the 31st August 1957 (our Independence Day), the Malaysian federation is formally established on this day in 1963. This is the day when all lands of Borneo, Malaya and Singapore are united to form Malaysia.

Outfit:
Scarf: Turkuaz
Nyonya Kebaya: Melaka
Batik skirt: Miss Lily Shop
Slippers: Zara
Bag: Longchamp

So on this memorable day, I decided to wear something that's very much Malaysian, but in my own twist of course. Paired a simple embroidered Nyonya Kebaya top with a batik maxi skirt. Specifically bought a simple Nyonya Kebaya top so that I can wear it with my casual outfits when I'm back in KL as an outer cardigan or something. And usually the batik sarong are worn quite figure-huggingly, so it wasn't that all friendly to my touristy walks in Malacca hehe..

Here's to praying that Malaysia will remain happy, healthy and prosperous for a million more years! Being born and bred in Malaysia is definitely something I am proud of and would never trade it for anything else in the world! :)
