I have really nothing much to blab about since I'm always at home now. But for sure, I do miss my classes sometimes though. Sometimes. For this shoot, I thought I'd emphasized on what a fashion design student revolves around heee. But of course this is not just it. There's wayyyy lot more and wayyy a lot harder than I imagined. Secretly, I sometimes regret taking the course :p Okay that's not nice. Teehee.

Assalam and hello :)

Here's to a wonderful vacation I had earlier this week. It's been long since I last stepped foot on a beach, and yeah,that got me all jiggy when arriving so at Morib beach. The serene surrounding and calming experience made me feel oh-s0 gedik! :pp I brought my sunnies and a book along too. Good thing the weather was amazing, cause after swimming and spending time under the sun, I didn't get sunburnt(WOOHOO!). Get outta town! :D

Plus, I received the skirt I bought from Padieka just in time before I headed to Morib. Heck yeah Imma wear it as soon as I reach there! Let me spell it for you, the skirt is P-E-R-F-E-C-T. Even my sisters kept asking me whether can they borrow em from me afterwards. I said no! Go get your own! hahaha.. Psst, I love the website too. Very user friendly like how online shops should be. First of all, I wanna screammmmm!! Weeehooo! My exams for semester two is over! Finalehhh!

So on the first day of my freedom I decided to spend it with my family, duhh, who else, right? So me, mommy and Iqa headed to Pavilion cause I was seeing these images of these United Buddy Bears everywhere. I had to get my butt there or else I would feel totally left out. It's actually an art installation to promote living together in peace and harmony. There were 140 beautifully painted bears representing 140 countries, mind you! I had a hard time choosing my favorite one. hihi.. And at last I found one, which was from Bangladesh.. haha!

REFLECTION 2012

Alhamdulillah, the event went smoothly as ever! It was a such an amazing experience and such an honour that Pastelina was invited to join in. Albeit the bad timing it was for me, due to my exam week, so far I did manage my time well in juggling between the preparations for Reflection and my assessments assignments. And yes, that includes no sleep for me. I could barely open my eyes after the event was done. Ngeee. So those you came have seen and bought some of Pastelina's new collection! Toche toche!! :D Can't wait to have a photoshoot of them pieces sometime next week--with your favorite blogger in town..jeng jeng jeng..

Phew.. phew..phew..!!

At this point in time, I just wished I had four hands! Juggling between my final semester assessment presentations and to get things ready for Reflection 2012, is just too overwhelming! I can't wait till the finals are over, and start my sem break soon. All I see by now is my bedddd... teehee!

What a way to start off the new year! Despite the current position I'm in which is 'exam week', I'm so glad I get to spend my new year with my loved ones. I spent my 1st day of 2012 with my family, and yesterday, I hung out with my girls. It's good to have girlfriends who are sooo freakishly amazing and cool at the same time. We come from different backgrounds, and different age groups, but somehow we still have the same wavelength when it comes to everything. Heee. Bless my family and friends, ya Allah, where ever they may be. For I know, they're the ones who will have my back in times when I really need them :D

Hello lovely loyal readers!

Hello to new hopes and dreams!

*Wipes off dusts on this blog* heee.. so as I've promised, here I am, fresh and super duper excited to welcome the new year with a new blogpost hee! How have ya'll been doing? Naughty or nice? Wait, I'm no santa here. Goshhh I miss blogging so much!! My fingers are actually trembling as I'm typing this, as it has been two months since I last *crack knuckles* typed something in this blog.. hehe..

Ok, Shea, you can stop rambling in this fine and dandy day of the new year! :p

I just want to let you all know that 2011 has been nice to me, and I hope 2012 will be even better! I've learnt so much in the past year, which includes,

* Life is sooo short, take time to live it and enjoy every opportunity that arises.

* There is room for improvement, everyday! Learn from your mistakes and move on with a better spirit in your heart.

* Everyday is a chance. A chance for you to realise and repent.

* Whatever happens, family comes first, and nothing can ever break a family tie.

* To sleep early. (haha!)

Oooh, and one more MAJOR improvement is you can see--my blog layout! Hee, thought I'd change it just for fun.. Out with the old, and in with the new they say! Gonna miss you old layout, you! ;p I'm not sure whether the new header is permanent or not. I might even change it again until I find THE one. Who knows?

On hiatus..

Happy November darlings..

Don’t be freaked out by my post title, but yes, I wish to be on a hiatus from blogging till God knows when. I dunno, but I think I need to have my priorities straightened out and with the amount of workloads I have right now, I think this is the best decision I’ve made so far.

Here's something really from my heart,

There’s a saying that goes, “If you love someone, let that person go.”

My feelings about this quote and how it relates to love in my life have always shifted back and forth. If you love someone, why would you ever let that person go? I mean that person is everything you want, everything you love. That person is the only person you’d ever want to be with, so why let that person go?

Happiness. You let that person go for his happiness. If you really love someone, you will always want that person to be happy. And if being happy means being away for a while, then sometimes yes, you have to let that person go. Even if he means everything to you, if it makes him happy to be free, then let him go. There’s nothing sadder than to see the person you truly love unhappy.

What happens to the person who lets go? Of course, she’ll experience the pain of letting go of her love, especially after reflecting on all the precious times spent with that person. Her heart will continue to yearn for that person, even when it’s over. No one said it was easy, but in time, the pain subsides and she’ll move on, right?

Hopefully.

Separations are never easy, especially when the love was so good, especially when there’s still attachment. When people still feel for each other that way, of course neither of them wants the friendship to end. It’s the hearts that are talking, not the minds. Often times the feeling of not wanting the break up comes from the heart, but when you really think hard about it, you choose what’s best.

Just because it’s the best decision, it doesn’t mean the person who proposed it wanted it. Why would she want the end such a good thing? It was never a want. It was a need. It was the need to be real and be true to be logical.

But then again, does logic define love?

To be honest, after two people who enjoys each other's company go through with it, they are often times still unsure if it was the right decision. Sometimes they feel that this is just another one of those times they say things they don’t mean and that maybe tomorrow will be a new day and everything will be okay. Until now, lovers may not be sure if what they did was right. I feel that lovers will one day end up in each other’s love again… Only if they’re really meant for each other. Allah knows best.

I’m sure they’ll be fine. It’s just a hole in the heart that they have to mend and fill with something or someone else. They’ll be fine, right? It’s not like this is easier for one person than it is for the other. Little do they know, they’re walking towards recovery together, just on different routes.

Do I sound like I'm heartbroken? Hmmm, not so sure myself. Plus it's not that important. Okay, okay, back on track...

In addition, I’ve done some thinking and looking back on my life, I am very much contented with what I have accomplished through this blog. Now, I’m trying to focus with what life outside the cyberworld has to offer. I will be inactive on my facebook and twitter too. I may appear there once in a while, but not as frequent as I used to. I'm gonna be active on my Instagram only. As my phone is within reach, and hey, you can never say no to pwetty-iphoned-filtered-images, aite? I feel that I haven’t done things that I enjoy doing in a while now. I wanna do things out of my reach, and actually have fun while I’m at it.

What I plan to do:
*Spend more time with my family and friends

*Devoting myself to Allah, be a better Muslimah, and recite the Quran as much as I can

*Visit my nephews and spend more time teaching them how to draw..hehe..

*Rollerblading and Frisbee-ing with my friends (I have alwayyysss loved rollerblading! High time I get back on it)

*Catch up on my reading (You’ll maybe find me at my new favorite bookstore in PJ than I am at home now)

*Be engrossed in my Masters thesis work (A big YAWNN actually, but hey, that’s life..)

*Travel, go places, explore photography and take (great) pictures while I’m at it

*Move out and live on my own

*Practice my French with my French classmate buddies

*Go rock-climbing, zorbing, cycling, swimming and everything -ing -ing -ing! :P

*Visit parks more often, even if it means I just sit there reading a book

*Sign up in a gym and get fit

*Learn new ways of editing pictures (I loveeeeee!)

*Sleep early

*Learn complicated hair-braiding techniques & learn to massage (Dunno why I love doing these two!)

*Perform Umrah (amiiin amiiin amiiin! Lately the urge to perform the Umrah is always on my mind. Do pray so that it comes true, soon! :))

Drive to wherever the wind takes me

Read, read, read and brush up on my vocabs

Focus on my Master's work

Don’t let this scare you! Hehe.. I’m still the same Shea as I was before, only with more substance I guess. Haha. I still am the Shea who sings out loud when she’s alone in the car, who loves fashion and plays dress up in front of the mirror at night, who watches talking cat videos on Youtube when she’s bored, who often forgets to let go of the handbrake while driving, who gets mad when there’s no peanuts in her Nasi Lemak, who loves having red nails, who loves LOVE, who just can’t stop staring at sparkly lights, who loves LMFAO (secretly..hehehe), and so much more. Yeah, yeah, you get the idea, right? Sorry for party rockin'. Okay I really need to stop listening to LMFAO now.. hahaha..

Lately Kuala Lumpur is all cloudy and rainy. It rained almost every evening and night. I'm not a fan of this type of weather, but hey, who am I to complain, right? Let's just be thankful that Allah is showering us with lots of love through the rain He poured.

Oh, something happened while I was driving just now. Yes, it was raining. And as I drove through a puddle, I accidentally splashed the motorcyclist next to my car. I saw the girl's face went like "Waaaa..". She must've gotten really wet--because of ME!! God, I wish I could stop the car right at that moment and beg for forgiveness. It really was an accident as I didn't see her there as it was quite dark. Until now I feel so bad about myself. To whomever you are, girl, I'm truly sorry.. :(

Happy Sunday peeps!

Ok, here's a little wee bit update bout me (if you guys wanna know lah..hehe). Lately I have been adoring and listening nonstop to British speaking people speaking english in their accent. And my, I'm stuck with 'em. The english I speak since forever in is more leaned towards the American slang as that was where my first form of education gotten from. Yeah, I got the rolling R's and the T sound as D whenever I speak. And etc.

Well something crazy, remember I told you guys bout the books I recently bought? Well, I kinda read em out loud in my room in the british accent! And later I found out that I don't understand a word I read in the end cause I was too focused in the speaking practice. Hah!

Aaaand, the other day my sister shared with me this video about a little girl from the UK singing Nicki Minaj's song. My jaws literally dropped as I saw this energetic girl! Sophia, the name, is such an adorable little girl, I wish one day I'll have a daughter with her bubbly spirit! :D

Anyhoo, *while looking at the pile of bags in my room* I notice that I don't have a back pack! You call yourself a bag collector, Shea??

After a 4 hour journey drive yesterday, I successfully made it to UTM Skudai, to attend my buddies' convocation ceremony. I'm sooo happy I got to see my friends on their big day. Eventhough the 4 hour drive to, and another 4 hour drive back in a day was extremely exhausting, it was all worthwhile when I met most of my friends back in UTM and I dunno, somehow memories came trickling in. Woops!

I'll make sure the ones I chose isn't tacky for everyday wear... So the other day, I browsed through JCS's shop, and I found this dainty laced slingbag I'm wearing today. I mean, lace + slingbag = MAJOR LOVE!

Many of you might have noticed that yes, it was Adriani's wedding last weekend! Yesss, my baby Yanny!! Gosh, can you imagine the amount of excitement I went through to see her on her big day? I witnessed and knew the hardships she had to go through before the wedding, all I can say is, everything turned out unbelievably breathtakingly divine! I salute you, Yanny, for doing everything in such a graceful manner. Speaking of grace, isn't Adriani the next Malaysia's Grace Kelly?? Her wedding dress, speaks everything, right? I mean, a beautiful lady, in a beautiful wedding dress, what more could a girl wish for on her wedding day? Oh, a loving husband of course. Hihi...

To Adriani and Yus, I wish you both the very best of marriage life. I'll pray so that the journey that you both will go through will be smooth sailing and blessed in every step of the way. You both are the nicest people I have ever met, and you guys really do belong with each other (chewahhh :P) May you'll be blessed with healthy, beautiful and soleh babies and bring them to see me always!! :PP

The fun didn't end there, and yes, that includes the exhaustion I felt too. As the very next day, there's a lil Raya Party at my house and I invited some of my closest friends to attend too. Thank you all for coming and hoped you guys had a great time (I know you guys did! :P) I've never hosted anything for my friends, so this was exactly my first time planning, preparing and setting up everything from scratch. That's why it's just a mini party..hehe.. Maybe next year I should host a bigger party, aite?

Assalamualaikum ya'll!

How was everyone's Eid? I saw sooo many happy faces on facebook, happily surrounded by your family and friends! I'm sure you guys had a tremendous time enjoying those scrumptious festive delicacies. I know I did! In three days, I ate a total of a 6-day meal! Gulppps!! Good thing I checked my weight just now--and still maintained. Phew!

I went back to my hometown which is in Malacca. And stayed there for three days. Here are some jumbled up pics of those three days from my camera and iPhone. Only now I realise that this post looks like a total mess! :P Nevermind, all I know is that I had the time of my life spent with my family and relatives these past 4 days! :)

Oooh, what more, this year's Eid falls on the same day as our country's Independence Day! Kill two birds with one stone kinda holiday I must say! :D

Okay, this is totally out of the blue. But I rode a flying fox at a mini funfair near my kampung on my last night stay.

As I've sorta declared this blog as a personal/fashion blog, here are my outfits for the first three days of Eid! It was definitely a 'black raya' for me and fam as yes, I've told you, I wasn't looking forward to this year's Eid. Make any sense?? :P

Just to let ya’ll know, that the sole purpose for me to write this thing is out of my sincerity to share an experience from a close friend. I really don't mean to hurt any one in any way. Please forgive me if I did.

I have a friend, let me just call her Thea* not her real name. She's a bubbly girl, full of life and would never hurt a single soul if she could. Here's her story...

A year ago, when she was so anxious and kinda ready to get to know guys, there, this guy appeared in her life. Let's just call him Mr. B. She met him through a mutual friend, and from what I remember, the day he contacted her, via facebook, was the day that completely changed her life. For a year or so. Getting to know this Mr.B was something she truly cherished, as she really was quite unsure how they connected like mad crazy in just a week! They clicked in an instant after chatting together for hours in a couple of weeks. She met other guys too at that stage, but none of them was incomparable with the chemistry she had with Mr.B.

They shared lotsa common interests and found out they hated and loved the same things in life. Their fears and dreams were like frighteningly the same!! He doesn't just finish her sentences, he already knew what she was gonna say and beat her to it! :P He respects her as a girl and for who she is and never judged her and her background at all. He gave her advices and calmed her down when she was in pain. He supported in everything that she did, and was her backbone to every bit of her success that she went through. He would practically come all the way to her house to surprise her (they live very far fyi) sometimes. They wanted to travel to the same places. They daydreamed of such beautiful stories that they themselves created and played along, they planned such amazing things to do together, shared songs that they both were mutually in love of too. Simply put, he was like the earphone to her iPod. Okay that was not a very good comparison. But you get the gist, yeah?

Everything was so unbelievably awe-inspiring. You know those fluttery feeling you get for a person? She gets it every time she's with him be it on the phone, or in person. She loved the way he cared for her, the slanted tone that he makes every time he calls her by her name, the way he was there for her through all of her good and bad times, he made her laugh so much at times she even cried in front of the pc while chatting with him I remember. She looked like a total doofus. Hehe. She questioned herself too, " How can this dude, actually let me let down my guard and gave him all of my trust to, so fast, despite that he wasn’t my type of guy at all and we barely knew each other". You know, when you sometimes have those ‘my-type-of-guy’ list that you hold on to. To her, he definitely wasn’t. He didn’t wear spectacles, he wasn’t spike-y haired, he smoked (that's her biggest NO NO) and he played the most boring sport ever—golf!! :P Love is very blinding you see! She automatically accepted his flaws that she'd normally disapprove of with other guys and figures that it's what inside that counts. And he was undoubtedly beautiful on the inside.

Their friendship bloomed, he asked how her days were, they hung out, he taught her how to handle the dslr, while she taught him how to edit photos (they were crazy about photography and cameras), they exchanged gifts, exchanged CDs of love songs and love stories, they argued and made up the very next day, they constantly shared songs and lyrics, talked on the phone and chatted and skyped for long hours just like any ‘close friend’ would do. He was there for her, and she was there for him. He just inspires her in so many ways, and the connection they had was real I can tell. She was basically the honey and he was the bee. And I was happy for my dear friend cause she seems sooo happy at the moment... But... Not for long though…

She really didn’t know what went wrong. Was it her? Was it him? Was it timing? Was it another person? Or was she the other person? Was she not pretty enough? Many questions went through her mind. But sad to say, the thing she feared the most was that the friendship they had begin to eventually die. She cried herself to sleep at night for weeks because she misses this one particular person so bad, misses the tight friendship they once had, but there wasn’t anything she could do about it. She tried though. It just didn’t work I guess.

Then came Ramadhan 2011, a perfect month for us Muslims to be closer to Allah, and improve ourselves towards our deen. So, yeah, I can fairly say, sometimes she still cry at nights *note: She's a total crybaby*, I asked her why, she told me only because she was ashamed, for crying over a guy for so many times. Whilst Allah was there for her all this while, she has been nothing but thinking of Mr.B everyday and crying for the guy!! She cried for the friendship that died. She cried for what they could've become but didn't.

She told me, when she performs her solat, she'd made sure there was a dua for Mr. B at the very end of it. This is true I tell ya. She cared so much for this person, that she’d never once stop praying for his well-being in this world and the hereafter. The irony was, the more she’d pray for him, the more clearer Allah showed her, or made her come to a realisation that theres a reason to why their friendship died. He, the Almighty, was actually PROTECTING HER. He was protecting her from doing sinful things (like how most couples nowadays do-I don’t have to mention it here yeah? You guys can understand, right?) Now only she'd realize that everything happens for a reason, and she is very accepting of the fact that Mr. B and her are not close anymore. She doesn't cry for him nor think of him anymore too. That’s a big improvement for her I can say.. This is what I love about Ramadhans. *Pats on her back* She is more than happy in this current state, even though sometimes she told me she worries too about the future of her relationship status. All women do, right? To me, that’s just satan, whispering, to make her feel insecure. It's our relationship with Him, is what we all need to work on.

I know, when the time is right, the right man will sweep her off her feet along with a solemnisation certificate in hand. And at that moment, she will be the happiest girl in the world. Isn’t it amazing what you can do with your partner when everything is halal? Teehee! When it’s haram, everything just feels so wrong and full of guilt, right?

My point here is, to all you single girls, it's okay to be single. Do not fret, but instead, be thankful that Allah actually picked to protect YOU from the petty sins that we might do with boys (Flirt, holding hands etc). Your moment will soon arrive before you know it. =) And to you girls that already are in a relationship, do remember that you are also lucky to be having an another half to whom you wanna share your life with, I just hope you guys will ponder and change the way you and your partner’s way in a relationship. Remember, a blessed relationship begins with a clean plate. Imagine you're about to attend a buffet dinner, and there's this long line of delicious foods that awaits you. But then you go and pick a dirty plate for you to enjoy your entire meal. Yes, you can still eat, but wouldn't the rest of your eating journey then be very bland and urm, uninteresting? Had you chosen the cleaner plate, the buffet journey would be such a pleasing experience you would actually get later on. Gahhh! Me and my comparisons.. I do this a lot, but somehow not sure whether the message gets through or not.. Kikiki...

I actually work with Wardina Safiyyah (a Malaysian celebrity), and getting to know her personally, I really really am amazed at how she is now. Upon getting to know her now-husband, she never ever once held his hand before getting married together. That’s just one example I can tell you. I'm sure there are lots more that we don't know. Look at how blessed and filled with barakah her family is right now. Her eight year old daughter voluntarily wakes up by herself for Subuh prayers everyday!! Ya Allah! :’) When can we all have that..? :')

I warn you, this post is filled with images ready to make you drool for this fasting month! :P

So, as many of you have noticed in my facebook, I got down and dirty in the kitchen a few days ago to whip up some fine delicacies. My lovely friend, Sarah, from high school decided to host a slumber party with some of us girlfriends mainly to teach us how to cook & bake, and aside from that, gossip is a must! As it's been quite a while since we last seen each other. So, I jumped at the opportunity to join! It's not everyday you get to see me in the kitchen and actually bake, okay! Teehee!

So for iftar, Sarah taught us how to make a scrumptious Bolognese Spaghetti and Carbonara Fettucini--the old way! No Prego allowed in the kitchen okay! :D

And later, we went to perform the Tarawikh together at a nearby Surau. By then, all of us were too excited to enter the kitchen for our next session--which is baking! All geared up in our jammies, we headed down to the kitchen to start off the baking and gossiping session! :D I laughed sooo much that night, I nearly forgot how it felt liked to actually have fun and not care about anything else in the world! The older, more mature I get, the more I'm drawn to big and spacious bags. Lately I have been using nothing other than bags that are bigger than what I usually would wear. Yeah, that means I could stuff more junks innit..haha!

So I got myself this perrrrfect bowling bag from The Poplook, and myyy!! I wanna cryyy!! The quality is fantastic! I am very particular in choosing a handbag as I know that I handle them roughly :P So, a good quality bag is a must for me. And that's what I found in The Poplook's bowling bag and the other one I had previously from Club Mod.

I have this thing for sparkly lights, I'm ker-crazy bout them I don't know why. Especially those little lights dangling in the darkness. The warm gush of romantic feeling it gives me everytime I see some. Be it lampu liplap, lanterns or even those tiny lights you see from above when you're on a plane at night. They're fascinating man! And hey, there's a new addition to the room--my glitter lava lamp! It really is hypnotising after staring at it for a whole 15minutes :P

How's your Monday so far? Here's a little something I did last week, which have yet to be posted in this good 'ol blog of mine. Lucky me, got an invitation to Iftar with the oh-so-succussfull Datuk Wira SM Faisal of Naza! The iftar was held at Favola, Le Meridien, KL. There, me, alongside with other bloggers and winners of the contests that Naza hosted previously had an upclose encounter to dine with SM Faisal! What more, I got to sit on the table he sat! Woohh! All I can say is that he surely has a friendly persona and a very humble character. No wonder Naza group of companies are successful. Look at the man behind it! :D

Faith Friday: Reflect

To me, Ramadhan is the perfect month for us, Muslims, to reflect on ourselves, to how we've been and to whom we wanna become. Allah s.w.t has been undoubtedly generous to provide us a 'magical' month to which is such a blessing to us all. Ramadhan is like having a 'Smart Tag' your way to be closer to our dearest Creator.

From Anas, radiyallahu 'anhu, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, say:

"Allah the Almighty has said: 'O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me, and hope in Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds in the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I shall forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with an earthful of sins and were you then to face Me, without having associated anything with Me, I shall grant you an earthful of pardon.''

For the past 11 days of sheer enjoyment of fasting, I too, have been thinking, and reflecting myself in so many ways. How I perform my solah, how I cover my aurah, how I take my ablution, and how frequent do I thank Allah for everything He has bestowed upon me. I do regret that my pace of improving is quite slow than I imagined it to be. I don't blame anyone but me though.

Whatever it is, I just am grateful to be given the opportunity to live and breathe to this day as a Muslim. To be donning a hijab and protect me from doing sinful things. To be blessed in this pink of health. And so many other uncountable things that I've been blessed with.

On a side note, here's a lyric to song, my dear Scarflets sisters shared together in our group page. I find it too beautiful to not to share it with the world :)

How I Wear My Scarf Tutorial

Maaaaaannnyyyyy of you have been requesting a hijab tutorial from me, and after all these years, and trying out various types of hijab wraps(I seriously don't know how I came up with this), this one is my favorite. Why?

1) It covers the chest

2) It covers below-the-chin part

3) It goes well with glasses/sunglasses

4) I can wear the conventional 'anak tudung' that we wear to school dulu2 tu..(That's my most favorite of all. I just can't wear the inner syria-dunno why!)

Here's an example of how I wore the 'Shea wrap' hahahaha...

The only condition is that:

- The pattern/color on the front and back of the scarf must be the same.

- The shawl/scarf must not be too skinny or else it will be too short at the back.

- You can pin anywhere you like to secure it down. I usually pin the shorter end of the scarf to the collar of my top.

I don't suggest you guys watch this video coz I hate seeing myself innit! hahaha... And and, there are lots more better hijab wrap styles that you can actually follow. Not mine! Mine is like a lazy girl's wrap okayyyy! :P

Assalamualaikum and a very happy Sunday to you, you, and you!

Let me start off by saying--I missed my sahur!! :( I slept quite late yesternite, and after iftar-ing with my buddies Shamat, Raf and Cici from UTM, I headed straight back home and spent the nite lazily doing nothing--bad--I know!!

As you can see from my outfit description details above, I've written that I wore my top backwards! Yep, you got that right.. I purposely did so as I find it rather cute to have those frills peeping underneath my jacket. So yeah, after this you can try that with your tops too, maybe you'll get a whole new different look, who knows? :D But of course, don't just simply do so okay, check first whether the top is suitable or not for you to wear it that way =)

It was very sunny and scorching hot today isn't it? Me and sisters went out today in search of our Raya outfits, but to tell you the truth, I don't really feel like celebrating Eid this year.. Boohoo.. So walking around about town was extremely tiring when you actually didn't put any heart into it.

But still, I was prepared though, I paired my lightwashed denim shirt as an outer, for easy taking on and off, if I ever wanna try other garments in the fitting room.

Salam and hello again mortals! :)

Today's fashion diary is quite special for me. I seldom wear the color brown, and thought "Hey, why not today?" I don't know, but when I put on today's outfit, I somehow feel very humble, contented and at harmony. I practically twirled around a couple of times in front of the mirror just admiring this unique color on me. Plus, I'm wearing these two coveted pieces of mine--which I have been searching high and low for since aeons ago. The vintage MOSCHINO belt, and the YSL arty ring.

How's your Ramadhan so far? Mine went pretty well I could say. I enjoyed every minute of it, especially during Tarawikh prayers. I feel somehow at peace whenever I perform the prayers. I do hope I'll improve myself for the better this month :)

Last Saturday

First of all, Happy Ramadhan to every Muslim in the world! Today is the first day of fast, and boy, I sure am looking forward to another 29 days of fasting! :)

So last Saturday was my beloved Lyna's birthday! We celebrated her birthday at Serai, Empire, and later headed to Stellar's Dress Shop Love event at level 10. It was a very nice day so I decided to put on something laid-back and effortless. That's where my sheer outer from Like Igloo came in just nice!

How often are we kind to others? I’m not asking you to be too kind like how Marshall (HIMYM) would smile to each and every stranger on the street.. hehe.. But just so you know, every little act of kindness goes a looong way. Everyone knows that already, Shea. Duhh.

The story goes on like this, yesterday I was out and about doing only God-knows-what this lil extroverted girl likes to do, as I was walking in a very public place, I suddenly felt the utmost outrageous pain of all time! I knew my menses were gonna come that day as I am familiar with that type of abdominal pain. But this particular pain that I've never felt before in my entire life was soooo excruciating, I actually fell on my knees and cried as I couldn’t handle the pain. There was no one for me to hold on to either. You know when you squeeze water out of a wet towel so hard, yes, that’s what my tummy felt like. Sorta. Like a force of nature squeezing my tummy so hard. I just couldn’t take it.

I felt so unease as I was surrounded by lots of people. And if I were at home, I could just easily grab an ointment and curl myself on the bed or anything. But no, I was not at home.

Then with Allah’s help, sent through a very kind gentleman, a stranger suddenly bent down and asked if I was okay or not. Clearly I wasn’t. Hehe. He asked my permission if he could help me at least bring me to a seat or something, but of course I said “No, it’s okay, thank you.” His persistency in wanting to help me, plus the embarrassment I felt by politely squatting on the ground, made me fight to get up and actually go to a nearest seat I could find. Yes, you guessed it, he was still there, watching me to ensure my safety. After I sat, even though I was still in the same state of pain, I said again in hoping that gentleman would leave already, “It’s okay. I’m fine, really. You don’t have to worry.” Then he said “ Hold on, yeah?” Then he left.

After tweeting about my condition (haha me! Sempat lagi!), the gentleman came again and bought me a box of Panadol Menstrual, a mineral water and a bun. I was like “Err..? Ya Allah, you really didn’t have to, I think I can manage to drive back home.” Then he replied, “I’m not letting you go back home yet after I’ve seen you eat, and swallow 2 of these pills.” God, there’s no stopping this dude I was thinking!

..And the rest was history.

My point here is, kindness still does exist. And because of kindness jugak, I drove home feeling slightly better. And, no, no contact numbers were exchanged. Haha, I know some of you might naughtily think we did, right? *flips scarf* :P

To show your kindness towards another being, let us all help Leonie(such a beautiful name!), by supporting this fund raising charity event called Dress Shop Love (Acoustic Indie Love). With the amount of kindness Allah has showered me with throughout these years, it's the least I could do this Saturday, insyaAllah.

The experience I had today was fun! Since this is my 2nd time being on air-LIVE, I think that the nervousness was quite mild compared to the WHI interview previously :) Plus, I was alongside a lot of my girlies! It turned out to be sooo fun in the end. Oh, and we were interviewed alongside Najwa Latif, the Youtube discovered girl who sings melodiously. Psst, while on the set today, when Najwa sang her song Only Yours (right before we fashion bloggers were interviewed), my eyes started to create a pool of tears on it's own!! God, I was so nervous I said to myself "Not now Shea!! You're on LIVE TV for goodness sake!!" Thankfully I managed to compose myself before anything embarassing would happen. Teehee! I really loved her cover version of Bruno Mars' Talking to The Moon that I found about a few weeks ago :')

A very warm gratitude to Liyana, Natasha and Nazirah from TV Al-Hijrah for making this happen to all of us. It was indeed an unforgettable experience I'd love to write here in my diary :)

First of all, congratulations to Harimau Malaya!! Even though you guys didn't win the game, you still won our hearts with your superb flawless game! What's even more amazing is that Chelsea took like 80 minutes to get their first goal :8)

Thank you so much to Naza World for sponsoring the tickets for me and other bloggers that day as well. We had the most unforgettable experience ever!! Especially when we were escorted not by 1, not 2, but 4 traffic police on bikes! Wooo!! For a moment there we really felt like royalty you know. Having to go through that about 8km stretch of traffic jam--smoothly was simply wonderful. Teehee!

Angel in Disguise

Being a strong, caring and the most patient person that I've known my entire life is non other than my mom.

As I look through the albums in our home, I can see how beautiful my mom was and still is to this day. Oval shaped face, hidung mancung, crystal sheen set of teeth. Yep, that's my mom. When I was 18, I tried on her kebaya top which she wore when she was 26--and I couldn't fit in! Let alone button it up. So petite my mom was.

And until today, not once I heard her raise her voice to me, my sisters and my dad. Even though she could for so many reasons, she just didn't.

Her love for English, reading and poetry brought her to become a head librarian, which I feel is one of the nobel-est professions in the world. I was always amazed at the fact that the books that the students in this particular university reads, are actually selected by her! Gosh, mom, you must be so proud to see students borrow books from your library and actually succeeded! I know I am.

Whenever I have a conversation with my mom, we're just like besties! I can alwayyyysss read her mind and predict what she's gonna say. That's how I got away with so many things :p

Mama, the four of us loves you, and prays so that every single hardship that you face will soon be over. I know there's a light at the end of the tunnel for us. You're undoubtedly an amazing mother a daughter could ever ask for. You taught me a lot when it comes to my problems and insecurities, everytime I was sick, you'd be the one bringing me to clinic, you bought me sooo many medicines/suppliments without fail just to see me healthy. You listened to my neverending sad love life stories and always said "I told you so" hehe.. I knew that everything you said or will say is true. You're so independent, you always knew your way even if it's on the road. You love crossword puzzles eventhough we laughed at you for actually thinking that it's such a boring game. You sujud on the prayer mat for as long as I can remember and when I came back later, I saw you accidentally dozed off on the prayer mat after performing your solat. When we prayed together, your duas from that heavenly voice of yours always brings me to tears.. :'( For every tear drop that fell from your eyes, for every sadness that you face from THE test, I pray so that the person behind all of it will cry a million times more in hell.

You deserve every happiness in the world mama..

There's so much more I could write about you, mama. But then the whole world would be envy of me for having such an awesome mother. Thank you for being my mother. There's not a single thing I could do to repay everything you've done for me..

Happy Birthday, Mama.

Truth be told, I am not a soccer *please excuse the American term* fan. But, of course I do have some knowledge about soccer even though it's not that much. Heee. So I was observing, why is it lately that international soccer teams have come down to Malaysia? Of course, friendly matches and all. There was Arsenal, Liverpool, and now Chelsea!

And after countless times listening to Hitam Kuning while on the road, and causing me to laugh out loud like a hyena alone in the car, I figured hey, soccer can be amusing (to me)! I actually just got up from a very satisfying slumber! As yesterday my sis held a open house for all her relatives. Of course I was there too. So you can tell how exhausted we were when night came. Hey ya'lls. It's been long since I last wore my geek glasses eh? Don't know what got into me yesterday, but I decided to put it back on and enjoy my time at Wondermilk's newly opened branch at Citta Mall, Ara Damansara. I decided to wear as casual as I could, and apparently brought out the cowgirl in me. Hah. Doesn't make any sense.

Oh btw, here's a song that's currently on repeat on my ipod. It's a cover of Nirvana's Come As You Are by Yuna. Try listening it out, you might love it the way I did. First of all, thank you Allah, for because of You, I am still breathing to this day. I woke up super early today and had my outfit shot taken very early in the morning too. Apart from that, I was just engulfed by the serenity of early mornings and how peaceful it is. Even though I live in the heart of KL, luckily our home is still isolated from the city's hustle bustle.

I went out to feed the cats and the fishes in the pond just outside home. Just staring at them animals, made me smile somehow :) I wish my mom and dad were here to sit down with me and have breakfast together at the wakaf outside like how a normal happy family would. Huu.

So, I was invited by Nana and Shahida Shariff to Button My Buttons exclusive fashion show with Aidilfitri as the theme. The dresscode was to wear something traditional, so plain ol me just wore my cotton kurung! Heee :D

I was thrilled to go you know. Cause few months ago I said to myself, this year, I'm not gonna make one custom made baju raya for me. I just wanted to get me a ready made one, and yes, by that, I meant from Button My Buttons! :)

Thank you so much Shahida Shariff for THE most fascinating fashion show yesternite. You can see for yourself, the designs exhibits the traditional Malay attire with a twist of contemporary cutesy, flirtatious, retro-esque feel! I definitely must get one! {So I did. Wait till you see mine this coming Sept yaww}

Oooh, and the models were our local celebrities! I was waiting for Juliana Evans' turn actually! Teehee.. Let me just conclude it for you--everything was bubbly and vibrant, fresh and alive! :D

Hey, wanna read a tear-jerking love story? I was googling about town about inspirational love stories and came across this particular story, that I'd kill myself if I don't share it with you here.. It really does bring us all hope that there are real life love stories, from real people. Go read :')

My grandparents were married for over half a century, and played their own special game from the time they had met each other. The goal of their game was to write the word "shmily" in a surprise place for the other to find. They took turns leaving "shmily" around the house, and as soon as one of them discovered it, it was their turn to hide it once more.

They dragged "shmily" with their fingers through the sugar and flour containers to await whoever was preparing the next meal. They smeared it in the dew on the windows overlooking the patio where my grandma always fed us warm, homemade pudding with blue food coloring.

"Shmily" was written in the steam left on the mirror after a hot shower, where it would reappear bath after bath. At one point, my grandmother even unrolled an entire roll of toilet paper to leave shmily on the very last sheet.

There was no end to the places "shmily" would pop up. Little notes with "shmily" scribbled hurriedly were found on dashboards and car seats, or taped to steering wheels. The notes were stuffed inside shoes and left under pillows. "Shmily" was written in the dust upon the mantel and traced in the ashes of the fireplace. This mysterious word was as much a part of my grandparents' house as the furniture.

It took me a long time before I was able to fully appreciate my grandparents' game. Skepticism has kept me from believing in true love that is pure and enduring. However, I never doubted my grandparents' relationship. They had love down pat. It was more than their flirtatious little games; it was a way of life. Their relationship was based on a devotion and passionate affection which not everyone is lucky enough to experience.

Grandma and Grandpa held hands every chance they could. They stole kisses as they bumped into each other in their tiny kitchen. They finished each other's sentences and shared the daily crossword puzzle and word jumble.

My grandma whispered to me about how cute my grandpa was, how handsome an old man he had grown to be. She claimed that she really knew "how to pick 'em." Before every meal they bowed heads and gave thanks, marveling at their blessings: a wonderful family, good fortune, and each other.

But there was a dark cloud in my grandparents' life: my grandmother had breast cancer. The disease had first appeared ten years earlier. As always, Grandpa was with her every step of the way. He comforted her in their yellow room, painted that color so she could always be surrounded by sunshine, even when she was too sick to go outside.

Now the cancer was once again attacking her body. With the help of a cane and my grandfather's steady hand, they still went to church every morning. But my grandmother grew steadily weaker until, finally, she could not leave the house anymore. For a while, Grandpa would go to church alone, praying to God to watch over his wife. Then one day, what we all dreaded finally happened. Grandma was gone.

"Shmily." It was scrawled in yellow on the pink ribbons of my grandmother's funeral bouquet. As the crowd thinned and the last mourners turned to leave, my aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members came forward and gathered around Grandma one last time.

Grandpa stepped up to my grandmother's casket and, taking a shaky breath, he began to sing to her. Through his tears and grief, the song came, a deep and throaty lullaby.

Shaking with my own sorrow, I will never forget that moment. For I knew then that, although I couldn't begin to fathom the depth of their love, I had been privileged to witness its unmatched beauty.

Apologies for being late posting regarding the feature we had in Aquila Asia this month. Truth be told, I just got my own copy as I was innit alongside with my fellow Scarflets :) Major thanks to Sue Anna Joe and the writer, Sheena. God! I just love the article! This magazine not only incorporates exuberance style in it's own way, I highly salute the fact that they feature us 'hijabistas' in different countries, but makes us appear as one.

See what I mean? If you happen to get a chance to read this piece, you can see that not only it goes into detail about what we, hijab clad girls go through (in spite of all the glitz and glamor you see we get in some days). I am grateful to be living in a country where there's no discrimination towards us, the head-covering girls. I know I am faaaaaaaarrr from perfect to be saying things like this, as I humbly say, I do make lots of mistakes dressing as a true Muslimah. But, trust me, I am slowly trying. Having this blog of mine somehow day by day teaches me in some ways. =) Let's just pray and hope Allah sees our true intentions and helps us along the way, aite? :) Ameen.

Basically, we're just average girls, like you, you and you who's reading this, who happen to be kooky and crazy at times too. We love going to the salon, we play sports, we sleep in the most ugliest yet comfiest night gowns *cough*, we fall in love, we eat like it's nobody's business, and we have zits popping up right in the middle of the nose. But in addition to all those, we just love dressing up for ourselves and we just so happened to become friends along the way. Is that a crime?

I once got a comment saying that we, fashion-inclined girls have nothing else better to do than eat-sleep-die in clothes. I'm sorry to say this, but the person who said that clearly needs to drink some sort of drink to detoxify your brain. It got me mad while reading it. I mean, come, and meet us, and then you'll know what we're made of before you jump into conclusions. Or better yet, grab a copy of this magazine, to have an insight to what hijab wearing girls are full of--intelligence and class of it's own :)

An example of a hijab-clad gal, a trendsetter with a heavenly voice, beautiful to boot, and produce her own songs, all rolled into one. Yuna.

Salam Jumaah and a very pleasant day everyone..

I was really looking forward to this day as I got two places to go to in a day. So I got up, got ready and wore this outfit today which I tried in front of the mirror the night before. When I'm excited with something, that's what I do. And yes, it's just basic maths where I don't wanna waste my time in the morning going through all my clothes. It's world war III in my room everytime I wanna get ready you know?? Heee..

Good thing I got my accessories out! For if not, my entire look would appear a bit casual eh? Oh btw, I am in lurrrve with this chunky bangle of mine from The Poplook, cause it actually fits my wrist like magic! You know when you usually buy a bangle of choice, then you find it too big for your wrist and the bangle comes rolling off your hand like a water down the pipe hole. Oh the agony.

Anyyyyhoo, I went to PWTC with my dearie Maria as we got invitations from Ashfi Qamara as a representative from Irna Mutiara's line of fashion boutique that opened up a booth today. Of course we were ecstatic to go! I've been reading and coveting Irna Le Perle's collection eversince I was born! :P And so I've heard, the uber talented Irna Mutiara has added another fashion line under her wings which is the Ina's Scarf (Goddd, I'm already melting here).

Saying that Maria and me had so much fun at the Ina's Scarf booth today would actually be an understatement! Cause we really2 enjoyed Ashfi's company and persona. Ohh, did you know that she's one of the FiMiNin members? Go crazy on their blog! I sure did okayyy.

Hye Ashfi and Irna!! *waves as hard as I can from Malaysia here* :DD

Next up, is the continuation of Hunny Madu's Private Listening Party which I happened to get a chance to go to last April, and now, she's launching her own album! God, too many successful ladies for me to swallow in a day!

Her newly released album called 'Pulau Janji' is a mixture of all things COOL. That's all I can say.

During the making of the album, plenty of the songs came through my dreams in excerpts which I then translate into melody or through writing. It's official. I'm down with a fever. Greatttt. How do I know I'm actually having a fever? Well, I just can't stand seeing bright lights, I don't care how I look(hence the oh so simple outfit today), and my feet is minus zero degrees cold.

Albeit the fact that I'm not feeling well, I just swallowed a half cup of chilled white chocolate frappe from Theobroma Chocolate Lounge. Nice one Shea.

Hola and Salam!

How wonderful life would be if I could spend my life living near the seaside. Especially when the weather is just heavenly lovely as I experienced today. Me and family went to Mandurah to go on a boatride to witness canals, dolphins and also the calm view of the ocean. All I can say is that everything was breathtaking. Too bad I missed the dolphin, which my sister managed to get a glimpse of.

For a moment there, I thought of my dad, who was once a seamen. Now I know why he loved working surrounded by the ocean.

After the boatride, we went to the Silversand beach which I sooooo want to go again!! It was very windy and cool, I feel like camping out! Gosh, I gotta plan something up when I'm back in Malaysia..heee :D I mean, who doesn't love beaches, right?

Happy late Saturday everyone!

I started my day today by accompanying my lil ninja, Adrian to his swimming class here in Vic Park. This cute lil boy is growing so fast before my very eyes! He was a sport in his class and cooperated very well among his tots classmates ;)

Then later we headed off to Fremantle. It's like a routine for us, each time we're here in Western Australia, to actually come to Fremantle. Here is where we'd have our seafood cravings fulfilled. Yummm! If you happen to come to Perth with my family, you'd be sure we'd bring you here too!

Oh, and later we had dinner to actually give a warm welcome to a cousin of mine, who will now be working in Perth for four years! Goshh.. More and more Rasol clans are coming and living here in Perth! I love!

How's everyone's Thursday so far? For me, it went pretty bland. No plans for today actually, me and sisters just went strolling around the small town of Victoria Park. While happily walking, I couldn't help but notice how neat, prim and proper the houses these Australians have. I mean, there's no such thing as litter lying about anywhere! Something to ponder yeah? :)

Anyway, many of you have been asking what camera did I use for the images in my blog, well my answer would have to be either my Nikon D3000, or my sister's Nikon D60. But we used an amazing lens which I loaned from my sister's boyfriend which is an AF-S NIKKOR 18-200mm lens. That lens was the actual culprit to my crisp sharp images. Hehe..

I'm here in Aussie, Perth to be specific.. to spend my holidays with my sisters here ;)

The weather here is just nice, a bit chilly as autumn is coming to an end. Here in my images you can see the beautiful dried orange leaves just about everywhere. Feel like actually lying on top of those leaves, reading a book! Sure sounds ideal, eh? :D

Just got back from the Women of Malaysia event held in Phileo Damansara.. And boy it was exhausting! Fashion shows are not as pretty as it seems. On the runway, everything's perfect, but when you go to the changing room at the back, you can literally kill another person! haha.. I'm just messing witcha... So yeah, Pastelina's first fashion show was the bomb(exaggerating again), thank you to Shafiqah, the founder of the soon-to-be launched e-zine for women :)

From my previous posts I have mentioned that Yanny and me were to be interviewed in Malaysia's leading women talk show - Wanita Hari Ini (in English: Today's Women), right? So being us, the first timers to appear LIVE on air was a very big deal for us! Wanna know why I say that?

1) We studied the topic

2) We made mock-scripts to be practiced :P

3) We got our Pastelina items ready in hand!

It's that day again where you just feel sooooo lazy *plays the lazy song in my head* to go out and do anything! But still, I gotta get this heavy butt of mine to go out and work! So what happens on my lazy days you might ask? I opt with skirts! Yeap, that's my theory. Skirts are the best solution when it comes to dressing very laid-back. I wore my favorite maxi dress, AGAIN, today, but this time, I pulled down the top part of the dress to my waist. And presto, a bubble-peplum effect is born!

Today I felt like going all girlish again with lace. I could just dieeeee seeing lace fabrics whenever I get the chance to. You gotta be smart with lace detailed ensembles though. Too much of em, you could just appear tacky. But just a hint of lace paired with other types of clothings, would do just right while making you look classy and fabulous(am I saying I look fabulous??Bluergh! :P)

Oh and I rolled up my jeans. I'm not sure how it looks on me, you be the judge. If you have that long lean legs, it sure is a NO problem for you to wear like so. Be sure to ask your peers on how you look that day before you go out :)

What have I been up to?

You know, I get these weird rashes on my palms if a day goes by I do not blog. Kidding. It feels different though if I'm away from this sanctuary of mine for more than two days! So, lemme tell you what I've been up to for the past week. This will be the final two weeks for this semester. Woohoo! All of you studying in the local university must be aware that our semester break is until September!! I feel like bungee jumping right this instant! Hehe.. Okay2, before that, I still gotta face the exam weeks of course!

Day-Night, This is what I've been doing. Finalising my project for my Graduate Visual Research subject in class. Those are just my sketches for my finals. And the theme for the concept is Waves. Haha. You can laugh all you want if it doesn't portray waves at all. I'm still proud of my work. Hihi.

After a day's work at the studio, I come home to my books! It's been so long since I last read a book before hitting the sack, so I guess it's high time I did so. And what better way than to read a book by my(and most Malaysian's) iconic-inspiring-former Prime Minister, The Memoirs of Tun Dr. Mahathir Muhammad. I just admire his wisdom which by far exceeds most rulers that we know of. He was and still is a great leader to me. Look at what Malaysia has become today if not for this dude, eh? Hehe.. And since this book is quite a heavy read, I just opt to one chapter per night before I go to bed. And, I embarrasing-ly admit that there are a few vocabs which I'm not familiar with upon reading them. A perfect reason to brush up on your English, Shea!

And the other book that I wanna read would be Elixir by Hilary Duff. Jyeahh. Because Hilary Duff wrote it, that's why I wanna read it. Hehe. She's my most favorite celebrity of all time. Why? Cause she remains nice and sweet not like any other Hollywood celebrities.
